Since the young psychiatrist Emma Stein was raped in a hotel room, she has never left the house. She was the third victim of a psychopath whom the press calls the “hairdresser” – because he shaves the hair off the heads of abused women before murdering them. Emma, who was the only one to escape with her life, fears that the “hairdresser” might come back to haunt her again to complete his gruesome deed. In her paranoia, she believes she recognizes her tormentor in every man, even though she has never seen the perpetrator. She only feels safe in her small house on the edge of Berlin’s Grunewald forest – until one day the letter carrier asks her to accept a parcel for her neighbor.
